[ad_1]

Urban Sessions Brussels, the largest urban sports festival ever held in Belgium, expects around 25,000 visitors in its first edition from 30 June to 3 July. This free four-day festival is dedicated to urban sports, culminating in the first UCI BMX Freestyle World Cup held in Belgium.

A unique event

For four days, all eyes will be on Brussels, which will be the meeting point of all urban sports fans. During the UCI International BMX Freestyle World Cup, the world’s best athletes – including Olympic BMX freestyle champions Charlotte Worthington, Logan Martin, Declan Brooks and multiple Belgian champion Kenneth Tancré – will compete on Belgian soil for the first time!

Urban Sessions Brussels offers many other competitions, shows and battles beyond BMX, from track to breakdance and extreme disability sports (WCMX) and skateboarding sports that have become an Olympic discipline like BMX since 2020. A 15 meter long mega ramp where the best Belgian skaters will compete. Number 2 in the world in parkour, Mexico’s Xavia Rodriguez Alvarez and Belgium’s Jéremy Lorsignol will impress the public with their amazing numbers.

UCI BMX Freestyle World Cup on Belgian soil

Hosting this 2022 World Cup as well as these new Olympic sports disciplines is undoubtedly one of the best opportunities to make the Brussels Region shine on the international sports scene. We will be excited and proud to invite the best international athletes to this free worldwide event. It was hard to associate Brussels with the ultimate urban sports, so here we are! », explains Sven Gatz, Minister for the Government of the Brussels-Capital Region, responsible for the budget, finance and image of Brussels.

An event not to be missed

This free four-day festival dedicated to action sports will host the UCI BMX Freestyle World Cup, a first in Belgium. Alongside the cities of Montpellier and the Gold Coast, Brussels will host one of the 3 stages of the World Cup, where athletes from the last Olympic medals and top athletes from all over the world will compete. More than 25,000 visitors are expected at Parc Josaphat in Schaerbeek for this exceptional event.

<< Etkinlik için hemen yerinizi alın >>

The goal is to create a truly complete experience. We have launched a new urban sports project in the heart of Brussels. We will host different disciplines related to action sports. Everything related to BMX freestyle, skateboarding, parkour, breakdance and many other activities revolving around the sports of this new generation. And the goal for us is to host the first stage of the BMX freestyle World Cup, which will be held on Belgian soil. That makes it one of the biggest competitions of the season. Brussels is truly on the urban sports map in BMX freestyle, one of the biggest competitions of the year. Next, we organize a series of activities, competitions, skateboarding, track and breakdancing competitions alongside this World Cup, which will host the best men and women in the discipline. We are building truly different infrastructures around the four corners of the event to deliver a festive-style experience. The public will be invited to the event for free and will be able to truly move from space to space, from stage to stage, to participate in various competitions, various sports and other events. We then organize a series of initiations and activities for young and old. It’s really open to everyone. is developing Matthieu Gheysen, the organizer of the event.
