DUBAI, 2nd March, 2022 (WAM) — Today, under the theme “UAE Unites Us”, is launching its 7th National Sports Day events with the participation of all segments of society.
The National Sports Day is held in response to the call of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, to designate a sports day where all sports, physical and heritage are practiced. H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the National Olympic Committee and Chairman of the Supreme Committee of the National Sports Day Initiative, called on all segments of society, institutions and organizations to organize and implement various events. The concepts of friendship, cooperation and fraternity, which are the basic principles of the Olympic movement.
The march was marked by the participation of many public and sports figures. The Dubai Police Band will pass through all the pavilions on the designated route. The walking event ends at the Sports, Fitness and Wellness Center, which will host 33 different sports activities such as football, basketball, volleyball, badminton, women’s yoga and cycling, as well as various physical activities.
In addition to these events, fencing, taekwondo, karate and bodybuilding sports demonstrations will be held to diversify the activities and present a unique version of the National Sports Day.
