Erik ten Hag: Manchester United meet with Ajax head coach to take over Old Trafford | Football News Sky News

Manchester United held “positive” talks with Manchester United on Monday – the club’s hierarchy has apparently been influenced by his vision and philosophy.

The interview is part of the ongoing process to identify the next permanent first team boss.

This process would have now reached a further stage, but that doesn’t mean Ten Hag has become the club’s first choice.

As part of the process, United plans to speak to other candidates it prefers.

According to United sources, there are no first favorites yet and they are open-minded about who their new manager will be.

Sky Sports News Reported earlier this week, Mauricio Pochettino, Julen Lopetegui and Luis Enrique.

Former Manchester United forward Louis Saha believes the club can still attract the best managers in the world, but admits that anyone who takes over will have a tough job.

Ten Hag has a contract with Ajax that runs until the summer of 2023, but United’s good relationship with the Dutch club – former goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar is CEO – has allowed them to talk to him.

The club wants to make a quick decision about its next permanent manager. However, they have not set an official deadline for the process, led by Darren Fletcher and John Murtough.

United had previously distanced themselves from the news, suggesting they were swirling around Thomas Tuchel amid Chelsea’s uncertain future, with one source calling him “the media don’t talk about reality”.

They argued that a four-man shortlist was considered to take charge of the club, which did not include the reigning European Cup-winning manager.

Former Manchester United player Terry Gibson has said the club will have to start from scratch this summer as the club is too big to continue without trophies.

United recognizes that the move to open a new ownership group at Stamford Bridge will secure Tuchel’s future.

The 48-year-old has also displayed the exact opposite of his desire to leave Chelsea, surviving relentlessly and emphasizing his happiness despite the turmoil.

United want a manager before the new season.
