Jesse Lingard: Manchester United interim boss Ralf Rangnick says ‘no problem’ between the two | Football News

Ralf Rangnick has said there are “no issues” between him and Jesse Lingard, who are in the Manchester United squad to face Burnley on Tuesday night.

Lingard was undefeated by Middlesbrough in Friday’s fourth round of the FA Cup after United’s guard manager said the striker needed some time to “clear his mind”.

But Lingard took to social media shortly after to contradict Rangnick’s comments and insisted the ‘gap is open’ despite being banned from United’s board. He left in January amid interest from Newcastle and West Ham.

Despite the public disagreement, Rangnick said the two had a “very good relationship” and that the 29-year-old was back in the squad with Edinson Cavani for Tuesday’s Premier League visit to Burnley.

When asked if Lingard and Cavani are available for the Turf Moor trip, German said: “Both are available and they will both be part of the squad for tomorrow’s Burnley game.

“Both are top professionals and both are well-trained.

“As for Jesse, I have a very good relationship with him. At least he knows I’ll let him go until the problem with Mason (Greenwood) comes up. All other things are mentioned. [Lingard] He talked about some personal problems.

“But now we have to look to the future. It’s okay between Jesse and me, and vice versa.

“I’m happy he’s in the squad and he will be in the squad for tomorrow’s game.”
