Official Jubilee logo introduced

The Vatican unveiled the official logo of the Jubilee Year 2025 with the theme “Pilgrims of Hope” and presented some of the initiatives and projects of the Holy Year.

At a press conference this Tuesday in the Sala Regia of the Vatican Apostolic Palace, the Evangelization Dicastery presented the logo and updated on the Vatican’s preparations for the Holy Year 2025, including the slogan “Pilgrims of Hope.” Archbishop Rino Fisichella, who was chairman of the former papal council for the new Evangelization, unveiled the logo and reminded him that as preparations for the Holy Year began in the Church, he launched a public competition for the creation of the dicastery. Emblem. After receiving 294 proposals, he presented three to Pope Francis, who chose the winner. “After looking at the projects a few times and expressing his preference, Giacomo Travisani’s project was chosen”said Bishop Fisichella.

The logo shows four stylized figures representing all humanity from all corners of the world. They hug each other, pointing to the solidarity and brotherhood that should unite people. The first figure clings to the cross. The underlying waves are choppy to show that life’s pilgrimage isn’t always in calm waters.

As personal circumstances and world events often require a greater sense of hope, the lower part of the Cross elongates and becomes an anchor that dominates the movement of the waves, according to the logo’s description. The image shows how the pilgrim’s journey is not individual but social, with signs of an increasing dynamism increasingly pointing to the Cross. The Jubilee 2025 slogan, Peregrinantes in Spem, is also clearly visible in green.

The urgency of living the Jubilee in the light of hope

Bishop Fisichella thought about the jubilee and why the coming is important. “Every Holy Year in Church history, said, It takes on full meaning when placed in the historical context in which humanity was living at the time, and especially when one can read the signs of anxiety and agitation combined with the expectations people perceive.”. “The fragility experienced in recent years, combined with the fear of the violence of wars, he continued, it only makes the human condition more paradoxical: on the one hand, feeling the overwhelming power of technology that defines their day; On the other hand, she feels uncertain and confused about their future. “From this came the urgency of living the next Jubilee in the light of hope.”

Theme “It expresses the need to make sense of the present so that it can be prepared for a real move into the future to embrace and respond to the various challenges that arise from time to time.”

Bishop Fisichella noted that after the summer, the official Jubilee website and related app will become available. “Both will be tools to help pilgrims fully participate in the activities offered and facilitate the spiritual and cultural experience of the city of Rome. In fact, in addition to the important Pilgrim Charter, the Jubilee portal will include news, historical notes, practical information, services and multimedia tools in ten languages accessible to pilgrims and easily accessible to people with disabilities. »

The Dicastery is already evaluating important events and stressed that special attention will be paid to the following categories: “Families, children, youth, movements and associations, the elderly, grandparents, the disabled, sports, the sick and healthcare, universities, business, choirs and choirs, fraternities, priests, blessed ones, Eastern Catholics, catechists, the poor, prisoners and much more…». A timeline will be available by the end of the year to allow sufficient time for the organization of pilgrims and related organisations.
